How to verify a travel agency’s credentials

Logos are easy to copy, so check the records behind them. These four checks take about ten minutes and work for any agency in India, including us.

    Ask for the IATA or TIDS code

    A genuine airline-ticketing agency can quote its IATA/TIDS designator on request. Airlines and consolidators can confirm the code belongs to the business named on your invoice.

    Check the GST number

    Every invoice should carry a GSTIN. Search it on the government GST portal (services.gst.gov.in) and confirm the legal name and city match the agency you are paying.

    Look up the Udyam registration

    MSME-registered businesses have a Udyam number that can be verified on the government Udyam portal. It confirms the business exists and what it is registered to do.

    Ask for membership certificates

    TAFI, SGCCI and similar bodies issue certificates to members. Ask to see them, check the dates are current, and check that the name matches the GST record.

Is Explera Vacations an IATA-accredited travel agency?
Yes. Explera Vacations has held IATA accreditation since 2022 and has an active TIDS designation. That lets us issue airline tickets and use real airline fares directly, and our accredited ticketing staff handle reissues, refunds and schedule changes.
Which travel-industry bodies is Explera a member of?
Explera is a member of the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) and the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI). It is also recognised by Gujarat Tourism and is the official travel desk of the Surat Diamond Bourse.
Where can I see Explera’s registration documents?
Our GST, IEC and MSME (Udyam) registration details are listed on the KYC & compliance page. Corporate clients can ask for copies of the certificates as part of vendor onboarding.
Why should accreditation matter when booking a holiday?
An accredited agency has been checked by an outside body and can be held to account. You get real airline tickets with valid PNRs, GST invoices you can claim against, and a business with a registered address in Surat if anything goes wrong.
